NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility:

Provides facilities for early phase clinical research studies in adult and children across four sites at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

NIHR Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMCs):

The Manchester ECMC has an active early phase (Phase I/II) clinical trial programme in various cancer types, with coupled biomarkers studies, which aim to inform treatment decisions and monitor the effectiveness of therapies.

Manchester Centre for Genomics Medicine (MCGM):

The centre unifies NHS services and The University of Manchester research and teaching, creating one of the leading centres for clinical genomics in Europe.

UK Biobank:

UK Biobank is a major national health resource with the aim of improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of serious and life-threatening illnesses. Funded by a range of sources including the Wellcome Trust and Medical Research Council.

The Health eResearch Centre/Farr Institute:

National Graphene Institute:

The National Graphene Institute will be the world’s leading centre of research into the world’s thinnest, strongest and most conductive material - graphene, which was discovered at the University of Manchester.

Genomic Medicine Centre:

Eleven Genomic Medicine Centres (GMCs) were established in December 2014 by NHS England. These centres will lead the way in delivering the 100,000 Genomes Project.

Clinical Proteomics Centre for Stratified Medicine:

This £12.8m facility will use new developments in mass spectrometry.
