Professor Kenny is Executive Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Liverpool.

She was the founding Director of the Science Foundation Ireland funded Irish Centre for Fetal & Neonatal Translational Research and was Prof of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Cork University Maternity Hospital where she worked as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist from 2006-2018. She is deputy Chair of Liverpool

Professor Wood is Chief Executive at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Prior to his appointment at Leeds Hospitals, he was Chief Medical Officer for the Trust and Deputy Chief Executive. He was awarded an Honorary Professorship in Healthcare Leadership from the University of Leeds in recognition of his leadership contribution across research, innovation, education and training.

 

Dr Kath Mackay

Dr Mackay is Chief Scientific Officer of Bruntwood SciTech’s Alderley Park. She is a scientist with a PhD in Pharmacology from Manchester University. She has held roles in life science companies spanning multiple disease areas & technologies and was previously on the executive management team at Innovate UK. She is also non-executive director of the Antimicrobial Resistance Centre.

Dr Jonathan Sheffield OBE

Dr Sheffield is a qualified Consultant Histopathologist with over 39 years’ experience working the in the NHS as a doctor, medical and general manager. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network where he oversaw performance of the network.

Dr Wood is Chair of the Association of Medical Research Charities and of Moorfields Eye Charity. She has previously served as a Council Member for the Medical Research Council and member of Advisory Boards for the British Heart Foundation, LifeArc and Wellcome.

Professor Mark Kearney

Board Director

Professor Kearney is British Heart Foundation’s Professor of Cardiovascular and Diabetes Research and clinical consultant cardiologist with an interest in the mechanisms underlying diabetes related heart disease and the natural history and new treatments for patients with heart failure.
